David H. Koch Center Construction

Description

I spent a year embedded with the construction crew building the David H. Koch Center at NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital. I was there from when it was an empty lot to when it was fully completed. My job entailed filming all systems, HVAC components, Electrical Equipment, Safety Components, etc. as it was being installed so that future maintenance employees would have access to the training they would need for any equipment fixes and upkeep. Often times filming was guerilla style as there was usually no time to set up shots or even use a tripod.

I spent many days climbing onto the roof, climbing inside oil tanks, sewers etc. It was physically challenging, terrifying for my fear of heights, and a bit gross at times. But ultimately was one the most fun projects I ever got to work on.
